The Round of 16 took place today in the Giffnock Open Womens & Mens Tournaments.

Womens Open Round of 16 - Results

The Womens Round of 16 had a day of shocks. Streaming live on Court 2 top seed Louie McLelland was knocked out by Halle Pringle - this was followed by more shocks as also knocked out were the 2nd and 3rd seeds Rhona Cook and Heather Barlow losing to Tia Bonita Jakupovic-Kljako and Alice Brook respectively. Halle's great result is rewarded with a match against 8th seed Francesca Simpson tomorrow. This leaves 4th seed Teodora Prisadnikova as the top ranked player after she overcame Karen Lamb in three sets.

Mens Open Round of 16 - Results

The Mens Round of 16 saw the seeds fair better with 7 of the top 8 seeds making it through to the Quarterfinals. There were tight matches for 2nd seed Marcus Walters who came through 7-6, 7-5 against qualifier Roy Keegan in a great match streamed live from Court 2. It took 7th seed Jed Alexander three sets to see off another qualifier Matthew Upton. Tomorrow he will face qualifier Mason Dace who managed to halt the progress of the seeds as he came through in three sets against 4th seed Patrick Foley winning the final set 6-3.
